Option 2: Castle & Key Bourbon Distillery tour and lunch

This distillery re-opened in 2012 and has become one of the favorites to visit. This one-hour guided tour takes guests on a journey through time, detailing how we rediscovered the Castle's key after decades of neglect and disrepair. Guests will see 20th-century distillation equipment with modern updates, as well as the flourishing flowers of our Sunken Garden. The tour concludes with a guided tasting in our speakeasy tasting room.
There are two different tastings at 2:30 and 3:00. We will assign which tasting you will be on when you arrive. We will be stopping for lunch on the way to the distillery in downtown Frankfort. This cost for lunch is included in the price.

Option 3: Thoroughbred Horse Farm Tours

We will have box lunches from the hotel to take with you on the shuttle. We will make 2 stops, Mill Ridge Farm and McPeek Racing at Magdalena Farm
Mill Ridge Farm: We will be led by a UK graduate as we drive through the farm. The 2024 Preakness winner Seize the Grey was born and raised here. Guests will see stallions, mares, weanlings and yearlings and you will be able to pet the horses at the end of the tour.
McPeek Racing at Magdalena Farm: Owned and operated by UK alum Kenny McPeak. He trained the 2024 Kentucky Oaks and Derby winners, and his daughter is a current graduate student at UK. Mystik Dan and Thorpedo Anna were trained at McPeek Racing. Guests will see horses of all ages and stages in their life, including training and guests will be able to pet the horses at the end of the tour.

Sit back and relax as you view the transformation of campus. The tour will include visits to W.T. Young Library, Gatton Student Center, Wildcat Alumni Plaza as well as many of the newly renovated colleges and buildings across campus. A bus will pick up and drop off at the Hilton Lexington Downtown and King Alumni House to start and end the tour.
